The African National Congress Youth League places it on record that all efforts were put in place to address internal organisational matters internally without Court action. ANC Youth League top five officials met with officials of the ANC to discuss the details of how we should respond to the Court action that was taken by the dissolved Provincial Executive Committee of the Eastern Cape and a member of the ANC Youth League in Limpopo. In the meeting, an agreement was reached that all Court cases and actions should withdrawn and an internal process be established to amicably resolve all the challenges that structures of the ANC Youth League encountered.
The ANC Youth League is dismayed that even after the ANC Secretary General instructed to the Eastern Cape dissolved PEC to withdraw all Court processes, they went ahead with the Court process, undermining the decisions of the ANC. Our greatest concern now is that some members continue to undermine and disregard decisions of the ANC. Our emphasis is that all internal organisational matters should be handled and resolved internally, because Court processes define those who opt for them outside the organisation. The ANC should consider corrective measures against all members who defy its decisions.
Our efforts to address organisational matters internally will continue to engage with all members and structures internally to ensure that all Provincial Congresses are convened and preparations for the National General Council in August 2010 are in place.
