The ANC Youth League condemns the South African Broadcasting Corporation's distortion of the message ANC Youth League President Julius Malema gave to the youth in his address to the ANC YL 66th Anniversary rally in the Free State. In his address, ANC Youth League President re-affirmed the ANC Youth League's policy of One Boyfriend-One Girlfriend, which is aimed at discoursing multi-sexual relationships amongst the youth. And because there are ANC Youth League members and youth in general who are married, the President encouraged those to stay with one partners so that they are not exposed to the dangers of multi-sexual relationships.

For reasons not known to us, the SABC's capturing of the message sought to suggest that ANC Youth League President is making reference to the ANC President in the message he delivered. The ANC Youth League places it on record that President Julius Malema never made any reference to the State President and will never discuss personal matters of the ANC President in public. The SABC however chose to spitefully and maliciously distort the essence of the message of ANC Youth League as part of the media's mischievous programme to drive an acrimonious wedge between ANC YL President and ANC President.

The ANC Youth League's concern nonetheless is that some leaders of the alliance have joined the media campaign of driving a wedge between the leadership of the ANC YL and the ANC, because of their own political insecurities. Now that majority, if not all ANC Provinces fully back the progressive stances of the ANC Youth League towards the National General Council, some believe that they will mobilise sympathy of anti-ANC Youth League sentiments. The ANC Youth League does not have a problem with the President of the ANC, and would never be ashamed to speak about those problems if there were any.

The ANC Youth League will forever remain the most credible and reliable defender of the African National Congress and its leadership, those who are appointing themselves as such are simply insecure sensationalists.

The ANC Youth League will write to the SABC to clarify the matter of distorting the ANC Youth League President's message to the ANC YL 66th Anniversary Rally in the Free State and will demand an unreserved apology for sensationalism.
