Andile Mngxitama knows that actual violent acts and threats of violence will attract media coverage way beyond the small group of the Black First, Land First (BLF) supporters.

Once perceived as a young revolutionary, his association and self-appointed “commander” of the paid black T-shirted private army  of the Gupta’s, has allowed him to expose himself as nothing more than an opportunist hired thug, that many might perceive as a neo-fascist.    

Any person committed to the future of our country must condemn violence by any political party, irrespective of their own political affiliation.  The BLF’s small number of supporters has been involved in the disruption of the proceeding of our elected representatives at Parliament and there has been the recent attack on a female advocate at the Johannesburg High Court.

The recent outrageous behaviour of the BLF has been the speech made by Mngxitama on the 8th of December at Potchefstroom, North West Province, encouraging supporters to kill “whites” “and the statement made, “we will kill their women, we will kill their children, we will kill their dogs, we will kill their cats, we kill anything that comes for us”. This is something that needs to be condemned by all political parties and appropriate legal action taken, irrespective of Mngxitama’s wish to become a “martyr” to the Gupta’s cause that no rational person could possibly believe in, including Mngxitama.

For far too long Mngxitama has been allowed to make statements that are racially inflammatory, undermine our Constitutional Democracy; the Bill of Rights; the ANC’s commitment to create a non -racist society, based on human dignity; the very real struggle to confront the historical injustices of the past and to ensure that we end the sad chapter of Gupta induced State Capture, which must lead to any of those who are complicate in any form of corruption facing the full might of the law.

The time is well past for the BLF to have his day in court and it is hoped that the SAPS and the National Prosecuting Authority will act swiftly on this matter.
