The African National Congress (ANC) calls on its members, supporters and the
world to join the call by the South African President, Jacob Zuma to support
the Nelson Mandela Day campaign on Saturday, 18th July 2009.

On this day, President Nelson Mandela will be turning 91. People all over
the world, in the workplace, at home and in schools, are called upon to
spend al least 67 minutes of their time doing something useful within their
communities, especially among the less fortunate.

At the completion of the voluntary activities, we encourage all South
Africans to join in the celebration at the Mary Fitzgerald Square in
Johannesburg where the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa and the
Department of Arts and Culture will host a formal celebration in partnership
with the Gauteng Legislature. The celebration will commence from 14h00.
