The African National Congress (ANC) joins in congratulating the other two South African athletes who collected another gold and silver awards at the IAAF World Athletics Championships in Berlin

Joining Mokgadi Caster Semenya who won the first gold medal in 800m, Mbulaeni Mulaudzi collected another gold medal for South Africa in the men's 800m and Godfrey Khotso Mokoena won silver medal in the long jump event.

These athletes made all of us proud and united in celebration. We are pleased by the decision of President Jacob Zuma to meet these athletes at the Union Buildings upon their return from the World Athletics Championships.

We encourage people in Gauteng Province to go in their numbers to OR Tambo International Airport to welcome our athletes when they arrive in the country tomorrow, Tuesday 25 August 2009.
