Residents have appealed to the President to address problems ranging from lack of housing, poverty grants to acquiring identity documents.
He also received documents containing complaints of alleged corruption by Kgosi Nyalala Pilane of the Bakgatla ba Kgafela in Moruleng near Rustenburg.

Pilane has been found guilty by the Mogwase Magistrate's Court of theft involving R38 million belong to the tribe. Mbeki has been asked to intervene in the dispute between two factions within the tribe.
In the stadium, he acknowledged that poverty relief still had some way to go. Mbeki has visited this province every year since he started his Imbizo initiatives.
North West premier Edna Molewa told President Mbeki and members of his Cabinet that the provincial government has made great strides in delivering a better life within the broad mandate of the government, including overcoming a number of challenges since 2004.
She said that 16 of the 25 municipalities were audited and turn-around strategies were developed while there was intention by government to provide hands-on support to underperforming and weak municipalities.
"All pre-1994 buckets have been eradicated," Molewa said.
Bucket eradication was prioritized as per the Presidential directive, especially around Klerksdorp.
She also informed the President that municipalities in the North West have made significant progress in addressing sanitation backlogs.
It was Mbeki's last North-West Imbizo as head of State.
