On Monday, 19 February 2018 the Speaker of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL), Honourable Ntombi Mekgwe will preside over the Official Opening of the Fifth Session of the Fifth Legislature, where in terms of Rule 14 of the Standing Orders, the Honourable Premier David Makhura will deliver the State of the Province Address at the Tshwane University of Technology, Soshanguve South Campus, Tshwane.

The Premier’s address will highlight the Gauteng Government’s programme of action and service delivery priorities for the year 2018 and beyond.

THE 2018 OPENING OF THE LEGISLATURE WILL TAKE PLACE AS FOLLOWS:
Date:             19 February 2018
Time:             09h00 (lifestyle programme) and 11h00 (SOPA Sitting)
Venue:          Tshwane University of Technology
                   Soshanguve South Campus, Tshwane

The event will commence with a Morning Programme at 09h00 which includes red carpet interviews; arts entertainment; police parade; and the guard of honour among others. The House Sitting will commence at 11h00.
