The Department of Education in KwaZulu-Natal has dispatched a delegation of senior authorities led by the Head of Department, Mr Nkosinathi Ngcobo to schools to assess the extent of damage caused by the devastating floods that took place over the weekend.
This comes barely a month after the previous devastating floods struck KwaZulu-Natal, and left more than 500 schools badly affected in April 2022.
Ensuring children can go back to school is not only a moral imperative, but also crucial for their safety, well-being, and humanitarian relief.
The Department of Education is working around the clock to ensure that all schools return to normality after the floods devastated the parts of the Province of KwaZulu-Natal and deprived some schools access to basic education.
