Tomorrow, the Council in the City of Ekurhuleni will convene to elect an Executive Mayor for the fourth time since the start of this political term in November 2021.
The huge political instability within the city has detrimental effects on service delivery
The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the City of Ekurhuleni is renewing our call for council to be dissolved and fresh elections to take place as we believe that this is the only way to rescue Ekurhuleni.
We have already witnessed the widescale collapse of service delivery under the watch of the ANC/EFF coalition. We believe that the election of a new mayor tomorrow will not be enough to undo the damage already done by the so-called ‘people’s government’.
We continue to serve the residents and put place their best interests ahead of political games and fight to rescue Ekurhuleni.
Issued by Ald Tania Campbell - DA Leader in the City of Ekurhuleni
