The Congress of South African Trade Unions in Mpumalanga notes the recent announcement made by the Honourable Premier Ms Refilwe Mtshweni Tsipane. The federation takes this opportunity to congratulate the newly elevated members of the Provincial Executive Committee who are: -

Ø  Hon. Speedy Mashilo who will be responsible for the Department of Human Settlements.

Ø  Honourable Busisiwe Shiba who will be responsible for the Department of Co-Operative Governance and Traditional Affairs

Ø  Honourable Vusi Mkhatshwa who will be responsible for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism; and

Ø  Honourable Mohita Latchminarain who will be responsible for the Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport

The federation welcome the reshuffle on following basis; -

Ø  That the process for the reshuffle was based on fair engagement of Alliance partners

Ø  That the reasons advanced for the reshuffle are found to be in-line with our revolutionary objectives which are the following: -

·         The advancements of improved and harmonious labour relations characterised by quality service delivery for all

·         To put forward clean and accountable governance.

·         To fight against any form of corrupt tendencies which will undermine the objectives of quality and impactful service for all.

The federation remains committed and undeterred to work for the advancement of the following revolutionary objectives.

Ø  To work for sustainable alliance relations characterised by meaningful and constructive engagements.

Ø  To fight to defend the hard-won gains of workers’ rights and confront any form of neoliberal tendency to weaken our collective bargaining right and power.

Ø  That we work to defend jobs and fight retrenchments.

Lastly, the federation is calling upon the Provincial Government to urgently fill- in and permanently appoint Heads of Departments in various offices to advance quality and capacity in each of the respective departments.
