The Portfolio Committee on Sports, Arts, and Culture has learnt with shock the passing of veteran actor, Mr Ben Kruger, a legend of Afrikaans television.
The Chairperson, Ms Beauty Dlulane, said Kruger’s passing was an unexpected blow as he still had a lot to offer the arts sector.
“The committee sends its deepest and heartfelt condolences to Ben’s family, friends, and cast of Binnelanders.”
The news of Kruger’s passing came on Wednesday and it believed he passed after Covid-19-related complications. His illustrious career saw him portray roles that included Oom Okkie, Neef Gert in 7de Laan and James Gregory in the 1997 movie Mandela and De Klerk
