The Armaments Corporation of South Africa SOC Ltd (Armscor) together with the Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) today, 5 November 2021. This three-year partnership will see Armscor assisting ATNS with evaluating and configuring projects/programmes and contract management in the communication, navigation, surveillance and information technology areas.

Signing the MOU at Armscor head office in Pretoria, Chief Executive Officer, Adv. Solomzi Mbada spoke about the importance of collaboration and strategic partnerships with state agencies and broader industry at large. “We are honoured as Armscor for the opportunity provided to us. We are ready to use our expertise and experience to provide ATNS with quality services. The aim is to add value and help them achieve their objectives.”

In order to implement this MOU, parties will establish a management committee on the basis of the service level management or project agreement. The MOU sets out roles and responsibilities to be carried out by both parties in the implementation process. It takes into consideration the scope of work and obligations to ensure a mutually beneficial working relationship.

In response, ATNS CEO (Delegated), Mr Dumisani Sangweni said ATNS is looking forward to working with an organization such as Armscor, which has notably achieved many years of good governance. “We are looking forward to learning about best practices in the fields of project and contract management and in the same vein, share our own expertise, knowledge and experiences.  This will allow us to achieve an effective integrated business management system and a path of efficiency in our processes whilst successfully carrying out our mandate”.
