Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) will host the SADC Media Awards workshop on Friday to officially launch the 2019 competition.

The awards aim to recognize excellence in journalism in the area of print, photojournalism, television and radio as well as to encourage media practitioners in member states to cover issues pertaining to the region for the promotion of regional integration and cooperation.

The workshop will engage journalists on the elements that are required for SADC Media Awards entries and to also provide feedback on the outcomes of the 2018 Competition.

The SADC team will provide positive guidance on the South African Chapter of the Awards.

The SADC Media Awards workshop will be followed by a lunch and networking session.
