Many have experienced endless frustrations with UIF C19 TERS claims. What can one do if the UIF is unresponsive? The Department of Employment and Labour has now made an attempt to refine the UIF C19 TERS dispute resolution process.

Enquiry vs Dispute

To start off, one must distinguish between an enquiry and a dispute. 

Enquiries relate to operational issues, such as flawed bank verifications, payment of foreign nationals, CSV file failures, errors, etc. These will not be processed as disputes.

Disputes that will be processed, include matters such as:

• The performance of the UIF in relation to the MOA
• Benefits calculation and/or payment challenges
• Failure to process late applications (where there is a good reason for late submission)

Dispute procedure

The dispute procedure is simple. A completed dispute form, along with relevant supporting documents, needs to be submitted to a dedicated email address.
