A traffic impact study (TIA) is the technical appraisal of the traffic and safety implications  relating to various developments including housing, commercial centers, ports, airports, and  bus stations happening anywhere in the country but especially in cities where the road and transport system infrastructure is under tension, working at or over capacity.

The TIA is valuable  resource of good practice for urban traffic management professionals, from the planning and  regulatory authorities to private sector developers alike.
