The DA welcomes the sentencing of the former Nketoana Mayor

8th December 2021

The Democratic Alliance (DA) welcomes the sentencing of the former Nketoana Mayor, Mandla Mamba, alongside former CFO, Vincent Mkhefa, to eight years imprisonment, effective for four years.

In 2011, the DA reacted to information regarding the irregular procurement of equipment at a local park in Petsana at Reitz.

We requested the SAPS to investigate the matter at that time. The case was subsequently taken over by the HAWKS.

The sentencing of the two accused brings closure to this case and sends a strong message to both politicians and officials that the DA will not tolerate corruption.

The DA has no time frame on our fight against corruption and justice for communities, such as the youth of Petsana, who are negatively affected by this scourge. We will continue to expose and fight corruption in order to get successful prosecutions.
