Section27 2021 YEAR IN REVIEW

As the world remains in the grip of he COVID-19 pandemic, countries have battled to deal with the impacts of the social and economic fallout.

While the government continued to prioritise controlling the spread of the virus, many of the INTRODUCTION country’s pre-existing problems including HIV/ AIDS, gender-based violence and inequalities, worsened. More people have been left vulnerable to malnutrition, unemployment and poverty.

Our work at SECTION27 to protect and defend the rights and dignity of the most vulnerable therefore remains essential. We are committed to ensuring the realisation of the right to education and healthcare and other fundamental human rights. This overview provides a glimpse into our work towards achieving social justice in 2021.
