Thank you for inviting me to speak with you today on the theme of South Africa’s place in the changing global order. The subject of global relations is enjoying significant attention this year for several reasons. This year is the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations and it has been witness to a colossus struggle between the United States of America and the United Nations for influence and shaping of global peace, security and development.
