SA: INNOVATION, AGILITY AND COLLABORATION TO DRIVE 2019 SONA PRIORITIES

PPF notes the two-pronged thrust of the RSA President’s address to the nation which was premised firstly on the rekindling of the nation’s hope and secondly the mobilization of the nation and its different sectors to buttress efforts and actions to radically implement the country’s National Developmental Plan (NDP) with team grow South Africa (RSA Cabinet) being at the centre stage.

The Progressive Professionals Forum (PPF) welcomes the 2019 state of the nation address as presented by His Excellency President Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa. ’’PPF has as part of its June 2019 national roadshow programme identified the priority areas the President of South Africa was expected to touch on as part of talking to issues affecting the middle strata, professionals and the nation at large and among them was an inclusive economic transformation, job creation, youth employment, the unbundling of the economy for SMME development, the governance and performance of the SOEs, the 4th industrial revolution agenda, the country’s social compact and the re-orientation of a capable and developmental state” says PPF President Kashif Wicomb.

PPF will use these seven priority areas (2019-2024) to cross-reference inputs to be made during the current PPF-hosted stakeholder consultations, consolidation, adoption and pragmatic implementation of the 5 YEAR SOCIAL COMPACT FOR THE COUNTRY’S MIDDLE STRATA/PROFESSIONALS as the PPF powered blueprint through which to mobilize the country’s middle strata namely: professionals, academics, intellectuals and patriotic entrepreneurs behind the country’s positive solutions and abundant opportunities to seize.

PPF and the middle strata will also use its social compact blueprint to robustly engage and hold government accountable for the priority commitments made and expected to be delivered in the next five years (2019-2024) in pursuit of the agenda to grow South Africa together.
