Recruitment drive to level playing field for all residents of JoburgĀ

13th May 2022

The MMC for Health and Social Development, Councillor Ashley Sauls I, has launched the “Goetes Moet Balance/Izinto Mele Zilingane” recruitment drive for the Department of Health and Social Development.

To ensure more racially balanced departments, the MMC has challenged the Executive Director of Health and the Executive Head of Social Development to embark on this recruitment drive with the purpose of ensuring that the departments’ employment is representative of the South African demographics of the city.

The Goetes Moet Balance/Izinto Mele Zilingane recruitment drive seeks to address the hopelessness which has been experienced by various races who have been left feeling like their applications to work in the city are never successful, resulting in an employment demographic which is not representative of the racial demographics of the city.

The Departments of Health and Social Development want all South Africans to feel welcome within our departments driven by the motto of being Called to Act with passion, Respond with compassion and Execute with military precision (CARE). The new recruitment drive further seeks to employ people with disabilities to advance one of the seven Mayoral Priorities of being an inclusive city.

We are now accepting applications for the Health Department and will be accepting applications for vacant positions in the Social Development Department from next week.

Although the circulars contain specific areas in specific wards, the Department of Health is strongly encouraging all areas in all wards in all regions to apply for the vacant positions. We therefore encourage everyone to apply for vacant positions in the Health and Social Development departments as advertised in the attached circular.

We look forward to building a more inclusive city with you.
