Premier Job Mokgoro sends condolences to the family of Kabelo Molopyane

North West Premier Job Mokgoro

North West Premier, Prof. Tebogo Job Mokgoro has joined many other South Africans in paying tribute to Motsweding FM’s late veteran radio broadcaster Kabelo Molopyane. Molopyane passed away on Sunday 17 January in the morning following a short illness.

Molopyane has been in the broadcast industry since 1996 after joining Motsweding FM as a voice-over drama artist and rose to become the host of morning and afternoon shows Ragoga Gee and Fokotsa Gee.

Premier Mokgoro said the North West province and the country in general has lost a talented broadcaster.

“It is with deep pain and grief that we have come to learn of the passing of Kabelo Molopyane. He made an indelible mark in the radio broadcast industry and in him the North West province has lost a giant. Our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends. May they find strength during this difficult time” remarked Premier Mokgoro.

At the time of his passing “The Kaybeezo”, as he was affectionately known by the listeners, was the host of Motsweding FM’s weekday sports programme Mabaleng and weekend breakfast show Le Re Tlhabetse.

Premier Mokgoro added that losing a broadcaster also impedes the government's efforts to share important information.

“We need talented broadcasters like Molopyane especially during this Covid-19 times to share factual and accurate information to our people, in the best way he knows how. Radio broadcast will never be the same without him. As the provincial government we have lost a true information agent” concluded Mokgoro.
