PPF says EFF must come clean on corruption allegations

Progressive Professionals Forum (PPF) on Wednesday called on the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) to come clean on corruption allegations that the party’s leadership had received monies from VBS bank.

The forum said the latest “damning” allegations made by EFF central committee member and former chairperson of the party’s national disciplinary committee, Thembinkosi Rawula, against the leadership of the organisation who have allegedly received monies from VBS bank, questions the moral standing of the EFF leadership.

“Economic Freedom Fighters is one of the political parties in South Africa which has since its formation claimed to fight against any corruption and fraud within its ranks and the entire country.

“The Progressive Professionals Forum representing the country's middle strata and the nation at large is concerned with these damning allegations especially against a party which claims to champion the fight against corruption,” PPF secretary-general, Sithembiso Kubheka said in a statement.

Kubheka said PPF calls on the EFF leadership to share with South Africans the political overview report presented by its leader Julius Malema at the meeting where this matter was discussed and the transcripts of the inputs made by national leaders who were in attendance.

“The above information is critical for South Africans in order to make a sound decision on who to vote for as we move to our national elections on May 8. The PPF is sharply raising this issue as it has since its formation condemned all forms of corruption taking place both in the private and public sectors,” said Kubheka.
