Nupen Staude de Vries Inc. appoints two new employees

Nupen Staude de Vries Inc. (NSdV), a boutique law firm specialising in mining, construction and environmental law, is rapidly expanding with the appointment of Samantha Reyneke and Calvin Matlala.

Samantha joins as a senior associate, specialising in construction law and product liability including litigation and alternative dispute resolution. She completed a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree at the University of Pretoria and began her legal career at the Competition Commission of South Africa as a Graduate Trainee before completing her articles. She then joined the Antitrust/Competition and Marketing team, and subsequently the Litigation and Dispute Resolution and Construction teams at Fasken. 

With a keen focus on product liability, Samantha has represented international pharmaceutical companies and advised the automotive industry on faulty medical devices and product liability complaints.

Calvin, a candidate attorney, holds a LLB degree from the University of South Africa and has experience in mining transactions and mining capital raising having worked within the public and private sectors, as well as civil and criminal litigation.

He was involved in the sale of East Rand Proprietary Mines with a key focus on compliance with the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy, as well as the Middelvlei Gold Mine and all necessary investor relations and engagement with the Department of Mineral Resources.
