NSC Awards: More than 20% reduction in underperforming schools

The Western Cape NSC awards once again showcased the academic excellence of our province with underperforming schools decreasing by 21% since 2021.

This is a testament to the hard work that our learners have put into their studies, as well as the dedication of both teachers and parents in providing the necessary support throughout their academic careers.

Today, at Leeuwenhof, we had the opportunity to congratulate the top performing schools and learners who, despite the odds, were able to overcome the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Some of the highlights included the following:

Top 3 Technical High Schools:

Top 3 schools with NSC enrolment (>80 candidates):

Excellence despite barriers to learning

As the DA, we could not be prouder of the learners and schools who were present at the proceedings today. These schools and individuals are the bastions of the quality education that exists in the Western Cape and leave strong foundations for the Class of 2023 to follow.

We know that the future is bright for all of these young adults and wish them all of the best!
