Norton Rose Fulbright adds new Cape Town Director in latest South Africa Expansion

Tamara Gerwel has joined the Corporate, M&A and Securities team at Norton Rose Fulbright South Africa, and will be based in the Cape Town office.
 
She specialises in mergers and acquisitions (both public and private), restructurings, joint ventures and other corporate transactional work, acting for financial institutions in addition to listed and unlisted corporate clients. Tamara is dual qualified to practice as an attorney in South Africa and a solicitor in England and Wales.
 
Before joining Norton Rose Fulbright in 2022, she was a director at Glyn Marais Inc. from 2013, and prior to that, Tamara practised as a solicitor in the London office of Dorsey & Whitney for seven years, specialising in UK securities law and mergers and acquisitions.
 
Tamara is deeply committed to a non-racial, socially just and democratic society and remains active in the mentoring and empowerment of youth.
