The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union [NEHAWU] is inviting members of the media to a press conference to be convened tomorrow at 11am in Johannesburg.

The aim of the press conference is to brief both the media and the public on the outcomes of the fact finding mission by the National Office Bearers [NOBs] on the state of readiness by government to deal with the outbreak of COVID-19. The outcomes will reveal the current state of our healthcare sector, the dangers facing workers on a daily basis and the non-compliance to the Occupational Health and Safety [OHS] Act and COVID-19 regulations by employers.

The press conference will also be used by the national union to unveil its national programme of action to protect frontline workers and society at large. NEHAWU will unveil an extensive plan which is aimed at defending its members and workers against unsafe working conditions and reckless infections.
