NEHAWU: NEHAWU says "Lets Grow South Africa Together - Vote ANC”

7th May 2019

NEHAWU: NEHAWU says

The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union [NEHAWU] urges all workers and people who have registered to go out in numbers tomorrow the 8th May 2019 to cast their votes.

Our 11th National Congress held in June 2017 resolved to actively support the African National Congress [ANC] in the 2019 National General Elections. In this regard, the national union has been crisscrossing the country mobilising votes for an overwhelming victory of the ANC. As NEHAWU, we continue to hold a strong view that the ANC is the correct vehicle to bring betterment into the lives of the working class and the poor.

We firmly believe that only the ANC government under the leadership of Cde Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa can prioritise some of the issues that we have been sharply raising for the past couple of years including the full implementation of the National Health Insurance [NHI], immediate implementation of free education, end to outsourcing and privatisation and the immediate filling vacant posts in the public service.

The speech made by President Cyril Ramaphosa at the Siyanqoba rally on Sunday further invigorates not only ANC members but our people who continue to look up to the ANC to bring betterment into their lives. As members of the Mass Democratic Movement [MDM] we emerge from the Siyanqoba rally more determined to ferociously and decisively deal with the triple challenges posed by unemployment, inequalities and abject poverty.

We call on all our members, workers and all South Africans to vote for an overwhelming victory of the ANC so we can continue with the transformation to better the lives of the working class and the poor. The ANC remains the only political party that places the working class as its primary motive force of its revolution and has the interest of the people at heart.
