People on the move of all categories continue to bear the brunt of the fallout from the pandemic. This is sometimes referred to as the ‘disproportionate effect.’

Three not unrelated issues on the South African political landscape have underlined this: the closure of the land border crossings; the call for comments on the draft One-Stop Border Post policy; and the discussion already underway about the desirability of providing the vaccine to undocumented migrants.
