The Patriotic Alliance's Kenny Kunene will be sworn in to the Johannesburg council, executive mayor Thapelo Amad confirmed.

Amad is set to announce his executive on Thursday afternoon, and Kunene will be sworn in ahead of that announcement.

Amad became City of Joburg mayor after Friday's successful vote of no confidence in the Democratic Alliance's Dr Mpho Phalatse.
