INJEJE condemns the racist testimony by KZN MEC Ravi Pillay & declares him persona non grata in KZN effective immediately

KZN MEC for EDTEA Ravi Pillay

INJEJE yabeNGUNI Council condemns in the strongest terms the racist testimony by KZN MEC of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (Edtea) Ravi Pillay at the South African Human Rights Commission hearing into the Phoenix Massacre. The disingenuous attempt by Pillay to belittle and denigrate the diabolical and unprecedented murder streak committed by the Indian community in Phoenix to anything beneath a massacre illucidates the reality of the disdain and condescent that Pillay nurtures against the African people. He clearly has no command of the English language as if he did, he would have clearly known the definition of the term massacre and known that what happened in Phoenix defines beyond doubt what a massace is.

His statements have clarified that he clearly supported the actions by those murderous cowards and this stems from the fact that he serves with African leaders who lack the backbone in dealing with indian racisim in the province. INJEJE is on public record for years raising issues particularly that deal with the high level of atrocious indian racism which is meted out against defenseless Africans in the region of KZN. We warned the KZN provincial government that if indian racism is left unabated, it will result in a deadly confrontation. It was Ravi Pillay who used the provincial government to attempt to silence INJEJE via the courts yet he failed dismally.

Our unarmed mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and even children were massacred by racist indians in Phoenix for being African in an African country and on African land. Ravi Pillay's statement spit on the efforts made by various stakeholders who intervened in arresting what could have easily become a full blown Afro indian war. Ravi Pillay's statements are opening still very fresh wounds, they make us question whether the decision not to mobilize for a decisive African retaliation in Phoenix was a wise one. The African people of this region are adequately capable and thus this antagonism by Ravi Pillay illustrates the neccesity to prepare our members and people residing in the areas where indians mercilessly killed our people to be armed and be in a state of awareness at all times of any eventuality. We shall activate members of our IMpiyezwe Unit to begin the program of training our members and people particularly in these areas, we shall also work with African owned security companies whose directors are members of INJEJE.

We declare Ravi Pillay persona non grata in KZN effective immediately, he shall no longer address any mass gatherings of African people as we cannot guarantee his safety especially since the state of his personal security and that of his immediate family leaves much to be desired. As of tomorrow the 27th of June 2022, he shall only address indians whom he clearly represents. Our council will lobby and advocate for his removal from public office and we warn African leaders to stop massaging the egos of racists who continue the evil tradition of their forefathers which is to disrespect the native African in Africa whereas no African has ever voted for Ravi Pillay to be in any government.
