Gauteng dam’s levels slightly declined this week

The weekly report by the Department of Water and Sanitation shows that the Gauteng provincial water storage has slightly declined this week, at 93.5% compared to last week’s 94.3%. At the same time last year, the provincial dam levels were at 85.4%.

Despite the decline of provincial water storage this week, dam levels remain stable. The Bon Accord Dam top the chart this week as it recorded 104.8%, down from last week’s 109.6%.

Reitvlei Dam remains at 99.8% this week, compared to last year when the dam was at 83.2%.

In addition, the Roodeplaat Dam shows a minor decrease, from 100.9% last week to 100.4% this week.

Bronkhorstspruit Dam shows a slight decline; this week the dam stands at 85.6% following a decline from last week’s 86.7%.

The department urges water users to still use water sparingly.
