For the first time in its history, the Central Karoo District Municipality (CKDM) has received a clean financial audit for the 2019/2020 financial year.

At the time, the CKMD was under the leadership of the Democratic Alliance's (DA) Dr Annelie Rabie, current DA caucus leader.

Dr Rabie wishes to express her sincere appreciation to the Chief Financial Officer, Ursula Baardman, and her team for their outstanding work.

The DA in the Western Cape congratulates the Municipality for this accolade and proudly recognizes the hard work and dedication shown by the DA leadership to achieve this unprecedented goal.

This announcement comes after the DA in CKDM has submitted motions to remove the current Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Speaker. The motions will come before the council on Friday, 5 March 2021.

The DA in CKDM has shown the difference that the DA can make where it governs, and we look forward to the upcoming 2021 Local Government Elections in which the people of the Central Karoo District will be given the opportunity to elect a government that works for them.
