The leader of the EFF, Julius Malema, is playing with fire with his comments and proposed plan to occupy unoccupied land by supporters of the EFF on the 6th April of this year, Dr. Pieter Groenewald, leader of the FF Plus says.

Dr. Groenewald says these comments create conflict, mar relations in South Africa and have the potential of anarchy, which South Africa cannot afford.

“The land issue is being abused by both the EFF and ANC to try and garner support and respect with voters.

“South Africa is a constitutional democracy in which private property is protected, and any dispossession or expropriation thereof will have to take place within the confines of the legal framework established for it.

“If actions will be accompanied by violence to occupy land, the EFF and its supporters will have to be aware that landowners will also use violence to protect their property.

“If conflicts like these materialise, the EFF will have to accept full responsibility for these, and the FF Plus will hold Malema personally responsible for the consequences which could flow from these actions,” Dr. Groenewald said.
