The Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Councilor Geoffery Makhubo, is in receipt of a request for leave from Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) responsible for Group Corporate and Shared Services, Cllr. Loyiso Masuku, following allegations recently reported in the media. 

The Executive Mayor has acceded to this request and will in due course announce acting arrangements in relation to her portfolio.

Whilst the allegations currently under investigation by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) do not relate to the work and portfolio of Councilor Masuku in the City of Johannesburg, the outcome of that investigation is of interest to the Executive Mayor.  

The Executive Mayor remains committed to leading an administration that acts against corruption and promotes good and clean governance.
