This study analyses specific pathways for improved performance and potential for value creation by national oil companies (NOCs) in Africa. It focuses on NOCs of Namibia, Kenya, Ghana, and Algeria on investments made and potential for further value addition to their economies. The selected NOCs are of different sizes, focus on different parts of the oil and gas value chain and have different experiences in the industry.
