On Sunday, the 14th of July 2013, the Central Command Team of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) held a bilateral meeting with the September National Imbizo (SNI), which is a predominalty black consciousness driven movement advocating for economic justice in South Africa. EFF is proud to announce that the September National Imbizo (SNI) is fully behind the political programme of Economic Freedom Fighters and will be playing an active role towards the NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ON WHAT IS TO BE DONE in Soweto on the 26th and 27th of July 2013 and beyond. EFF is also proud to announce the inclusion of Fighter Andile Mxingtama, the national leader of SNI into the Central Command Team of EFF.

The SNI Fighters across South Africa will out of the bilateral meeting integrate and begin to participate in the activities of EFF in all Provinces, Regions and Branches. The SNI will dissolve as an organisation, but has resolved that all its members will integrate into EFF structures and be guided by the 7 non-negotiable principles of EFF, which are:
a. Expropriation of South Africa’s land without compensation for equal redistribution.
b. Nationalisation of Mines, banks, and other strategic sectors of the economy, without compensation.
c. Building State and government capacity, which will lead to abolishment of Tenders.
d. Free quality education, healthcare, houses, and sanitation.
e. Massive protected industrial development to create millions of sustainable jobs including Introduction of minimum wages in order to close the wage gap between the rich and the poor.
f. Massive development of the African economy and advocating for a move from reconciliation to justice in the entire continent.
g. Open, accountable, corrupt-free government and society without fear of victimisation by State agencies.

The EFF Central Command Team welcomes all Fighters from the SNI into our ranks and publicly commit to intensify the struggle for economic emancipation of the people of South Africa and the African continent.

We specifically welcome Fighter Andile Mxingtama as a member of the EFF Central Command Team. Fighter Mxingtama brings to the EFF his experience and network in the post 1994 social movements. He is one of the founders of the Landless Peoples’ Movement (LMP). He was also national president of the Black Consciousness student formation, the Azanian Student Movement, and also leader of the Wits African Post Graduate Association and the Wits Save Mumia Abu Jamal campaign. He has maintained international relations with peasant and black radical movements across the world. He is perhaps more known for his public intellectual thrust as columnist in The Sowetan. Fighter Mxingtama is also the co-editor of the influential edition Biko Lives! And editor of the popular political journal New Frank Talk. Above all, he is fearless agitator whose coming into the EFF will be celebrated by most in the left radical black tradition, both home and abroad.
