Desperate ANC resorts to gutter politics with disgusting verbal attack on the DA

20th April 2023

An increasingly desperate ANC in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) has revealed its true colours, with Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA) MEC – and leader of the ANC in the province - Siboniso Duma launching a disgraceful and disgusting verbal attack on members of the DA.

The incident took place during the EDTEA budget debate in the provincial Legislature on Tuesday this week.

Instead of focusing on his department’s own debate, the MEC took aim at DA Mayor Chris Pappas - who had nothing to do with the matter - referring to him as ‘a little boy’ and ‘a racist little boy’. He then went on to make threatening comments that the ANC was coming for Pappas. (view video here)

Duma’s verbal assault then turned to DA KZN EDTEA Spokesperson, Heinz De Boer, who he referred to directly as ‘Boer’, adding that this was indicative of his political history and the role he played during the apartheid era.

The DA is not surprised by Duma’s vitriolic and disparaging tirade. The DA in uMngeni have clearly exposed the ANC’s municipal and other governance failures. It is little wonder that he and his ANC are promoting a new demarcation aimed at including Mpofana within uMngeni.

Duma has exposed his own leadership failures. Instead of responding to questions regarding his critical department - tasked with building a sustainable economy and creating jobs – he resorted to gutter politics.

The arrival of the ANC’s Taliban faction in KZN means that the people of our province can expect more of this racist, arrogant and self-importance attitude. They have the opportunity to change this dangerous trajectory in 2024.

The DA continues to prove that it is the most diverse party and where we govern, we govern well. uMngeni is living proof of this.
