Members of the media are invited to a media briefing to announce plans to assist Merafong Local Municipality to relocate the decommissioned water storage which was abandoned due to leaks which were caused by a formation of a sinkhole.

The media briefing will be held at the Merafong municipal offices in Carletonville on Wednesday, 21 June 2017.

The Department of Water and Sanitation Gauteng Regional Head, Mr Sibusiso Mthembu will outline planned project to be undertaken by his region to fast track water provision services to the community of Khutsong.

This challenge has adversely affected the Khutsong community, leading to interrupted water supply in the area.

The media briefing will be followed by a site visit to the area where the relocation of the reservoir will take place in a bid to provide uninterrupted water supply to all residents.
