Ngqulwana says he'll help ANC probe claims against Ace Magashule

Buyisile Ngqulwana, the man who claims Ace Magashule played a role in the formation of the African Transformation Movement, says he is willing to assist the ANC with its probe into the allegations against the governing party's secretary general.

On Tuesday, at least three sources who sit on the ANC's national working committee confirmed that former president Kgalema Motlanthe would lead the investigation. 

It has also been reported that the panel terms of reference will take a broad look at whether any party members were involved in the formation of the many small parties which mushroomed in the run-up to the general elections in May.

 

Nxasana to testify at the State capture inquiry

Former National Prosecuting Authority boss, Mxolisi Nxasana, is expected to testify before the commission of inquiry into State capture today.

Former president Jacob Zuma appointed Nxasana National Director of Public Prosecutions in 2013.

Less than two years later, Nxasana stepped down from his position amid an inquiry into his fitness to hold office in terms of section 12(6) of the National Prosecuting Authority Act of 1998.

 

Ramaphosa and Mabuza receive report on land reform and agriculture from advisory panel

President Cyril Ramaphosa and Deputy President David Mabuza on Tuesday received the report of the Presidential Advisory Panel on Land Reform and Agriculture. 

The task of the panel, which was appointed in September 2018 to support the work of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on land reform chaired by the deputy president, was to advise it on a broad range of policy matters, including restitution, redistribution, tenure security and agricultural support. 

The panel which include Advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi was mandated to review, research and suggest models for the government to implement a fair and equitable land reform process that redresses the injustices of the past, increases agricultural output, promotes economic growth and protects food security.
