The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Northern Cape is shocked and saddened by the passing of DA ward councillor in Sol Plaatje municipality, Bernadette Francis, due to complications related to Covid-19.

Bernadette was a valued and committed member of the Party. She didn’t shy away from fighting for what she believed in and she devoted her time and energy towards serving the Roodepan community. Her unexpected death is a great loss to the DA and has left a void in the Party and in the community she diligently served.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband Gladwin, their children, and their family and friends, at this very difficult time.
