DA-led Modimolle-Mookgophong council eradicates ANC’s legacy of poor service delivery

27th July 2021

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Modimolle-Mookgophong Local Municipality is delighted to announce that the municipality received service vehicles which will positively contribute to the ability to respond to service requests from the community.

Two brand-new cherry picker trucks and a forklift were received and the Bobcat utility loader was also returned from a service provider.

These vehicles were all branded with the municipality’s logo and residents will see them in action.

The electricity division is utilising these vehicles in Vaalwater today to repair street lights in Voortrekker and Sanddrift roads and will continue to repair the street lights in the rest of the town during the week.

The municipality now has three cherry pickers, which means the turnaround time for municipal technicians to attend to electricity maintenance will greatly improve.

Materials and tools required have also been delivered and packed into storerooms. The municipality is therefore ready to attend to any electrical faults reported.

Four months ago, the municipality also took delivery of two brand new 4x4 bakkies for use by the electricity team.

The DA-led coalition government inherited a shortage of vehicles from the ANC when we took over the reigns in 2016 and we were determined to increase the service vehicle fleet which assists in improving the lives of our communities.

We endeavour to take care of these valuable service delivery assets so that they can be of service to the community for years to come.

This is proof that the DA gets things done.
