DA in NMB mourns loss of Cllr Lungiswa Mlungwana

The Democratic Alliance in Nelson Mandela Bay is deeply saddened by the passing of one of its longstanding and respected colleagues, Councillor Lungiswa Mlungwana (61), who passed away yesterday.

Cllr Mlungwana was a DA PR Councillor in Nelson Mandela Bay from 2016, and worked primarily in KwaNobuhle.

As the deputy chairperson of the DA Women’s Network (DAWN) in the Eastern Cape, and the DAWN chairperson in the Winterhoek Constituency, Cllr Mlungwana fought for the rights of women and also worked tirelessly in all facets of community life.

She will be remembered for her passion in working with local non-profit and non-governmental organisations, clinics and local creches, and her willingness to organise soup kitchens, in some instances funded from her own pocket.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this sad time.

Cllr Mlungwana will always be in our hearts.
