The Congress of South African Trade Unions in Limpopo fully supports striking SACCAWU members at Khoroni Hotel Casino and Convention Resort in Thohoyandou.

SACCAWU members at the establishment have been in a protected industrial action from the 15th May 2022 to date, demanding a 8% wage increase. These workers, like all other workers in the country continue to be at the receiving end of wages that are under pressure due to the ever-increasing electricity tariffs, high fuel, transport and food prices. The demands by the workers are therefore justified and legitimate.

The federation is calling on management of Khoroni Hotel Casino and Convention Resort to agree to the demands of our members soonest in order to restore normal business operations.

COSATU will start mobilising other unions, the alliance and the community to embark on a protest march against the resort in support of SACCAWU members.
