The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Sports, Arts and Culture, Ms Beauty Dlulane, has noted with sadness the passing of the former Chief Executive Officer of the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc), Mr Tubby Reddy.

Mr Reddy who suffered from diabetes passed away on Wednesday. Mr Reddy also served as president of Volleyball SA. Ms Dlulane said Mr Reddy left an indelible mark in the South African sport and that the country has lost a giant in him.

“Tubby was a veteran administrator who ably steered Sascoc to the new heights. It is difficult to imagine coordinated administration of sports without thinking about Tubby,” said Ms Dlulane. The committee extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Mr Reddy. “May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
