The South African Communist Party (SACP) Mbuyiselo Ngwenda District (Nelson Mandela region) will hold a Chris Hani memorial lecture to mark the 24th anniversary of the passing of the late SACP General Secretary, Comrade Chris Hani. 

Comrade Chris Hani is a well decorated cadre of the movement who has served the people of South Africa in fighting for our liberation with commitment. He served as the General Secretary of the SACP, National Executive Committee member of the African National Congress (ANC) and the Chief of staff Umkhonto Wesizwe, the joint military project of the SACP and the ANC. He was cowardly assassinated on the 10 April 1993.
