Clyde & Co adds further depth to Global Projects & Construction Group with partner hire

Global law firm Clyde & Co has today announced the hire of Philip Norman as Partner to add further depth to its Global Projects & Construction Group.

Philip's arrival is the latest addition to the group, including most recently Beau McLaren in Dubai. Philip is an international disputes and construction lawyer with over 25 years’ experience, acting for a broad range of clients, from contractors to purchasers to public bodies and major developers in the construction, engineering, infrastructure, project finance, energy, oil and gas, and power sectors.

He joins from Covington & Burling in Dubai, where he was a partner and head of the Middle East international arbitration practice. Philip has spent significant time working and living in Doha, Dubai and London and started his practise as a barrister in London for nearly a decade.  At Clyde & Co, Philip will be working across the UK, Asia and Africa.

John Morris, Partner and Head of Clyde & Co's Global Projects & Construction Group, comments: "Philip's arrival not only significantly increases the bench strength of our global group, but also adds a wealth of expertise to service clients even more effectively where they need us. This expertise will be invaluable as we work with the construction sector to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic this year and help it manage the long-term impacts in the years to come."

Philip Norman comments: "I am thrilled to join a genuinely global and highly regarded group at Clyde & Co – a group that operates collaboratively and efficiently across its offices, servicing clients in multi-jurisdictions as one team. With its depth of experience, depth of resource and a wide geographic footprint, Clyde & Co is well positioned to support clients and stakeholders navigate through these uncertain times."

Clyde and Co's global projects & construction group comprises over 150 lawyers world-wide and advises on the full project pipeline, from planning and investment to construction and post-delivery. The group works across all asset types: social, energy, transport and commercial development and is proud to have advised on iconic projects across the world.
