Buoyed by another resounding victory in by-elections, the African National Congress in KwaZulu-Natal can now proclaim with confidence that the multi-party charter’s reputation has been damaged irreparably.

The successive defeats and disastrous results in the last by-elections which is punctuated by an excellent performance of the ANC sends shivers of fear among the racists and their puppets.

Once again, we pause to express our deepest appreciation to local communities. They have communicated overwhelmingly through the ballot box that the ANC is the only authentic and trusted instrument for the transformation of their lives.

The confidence in the ANC has been expressed as follows:-

 eThekwini Municipality – Ward 101 By-election

ANC –2 309

IFP – 787

EFF – 233

ATM - 70

AFRI - 21

DA – 0

Action SA – 0

Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality – Ward 23 By election

ANC – 2093

EFF – 150

IFP – 49

AFRI – 12

DA – 0

Action SA – 0

Action SA is idly standing by with an imaginary support base.

Both the IFP and DA know that they are in trouble but are unwilling to face up to that reality.

It is for this reason their only option, with the IFP in particular is to bribe councillors with millions of rands as it happened in Ward 11, under Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality.

Finally,  we note that the back-to-back victories in by-elections is testimony to the level of unity and cohesion within the ANC and its alliance partners.

This unity has made it possible for the local election teams and ANC volunteers  to bridge the gap between the organization and local communities.

As we move forward, ANC councillors and all elected public representatives undertake to serve our communities with a high level of humility, efficiency and speed.
