ADeC: ADeC Activist Candidate list Elections 2019

In 2017, we as African Democratic Change set out on a mission. Our goal was to fundamentally transform South Africa, replace our politicians with activists who would prioritise people centered transformation and not have an interest in growing the size of their pocket books.

This list is a means to achieving that. On this list, we have 100’s of candidates, from communities all over the country. Many of which are running for office for the first time, however, while they may be new to running for office, they are not new to fighting for their communities. All the candidate on our lists are activists who come from grass roots communities and have a history of fighting for social justice and transformation.

While we have many young activists, or individuals new to running for office, we also have a number of old timers, coming from a diversity of political backgrounds. What unites these young and older activists is our commitment to transforming South Africa, fighting for progressive policies and kicking out the corrupt politicians who have been looting our country for the last decade.

This election we have a real opportunity, not just to vote out the corrupt politicians - we can do that too - but more importantly, to vote for individuals who represents us, and are not just the best of a bad lot, but the best of the best.

This election millions of South Africans will have a chance to vote in favour of a manifesto created through grass roots engagements, speaking to communities across South Africa.

This election, our people have a chance to fight for a Universal Social Grant, Electoral Reform, education prioritisation, Cannabis Legalisation and a dozen of other policies that will benefit every South African and not just the privileged few.

Now with that in mind, we are officially unveiling our list, which is available on our website for anyone to view, and our top 5 candidates are

1 Jongizizwe Moses Mayekiso

2 Makhosi Busisiwe Khoza

3 Sello Ernest “Banks” Tshabangu

4 Nathaniel Denton Bricknell

5 Mhlahlo Thomas Mshumpela

As you may have noticed, Makhosi Khoza is on our list. She is the founding leader of the party and has remained a dedicated and engaged member even when she moved to civil society. We are delighted to welcome her onto our list and look forward to fighting corruption and for a real change alongside her in this coming election, and beyond.

Thank you all for attending, and remember, if you want real people-centered transformation this election. South Africa works, when South African’s unite.
