ActionSA conveys our condolences to the Geingob family and his political home, the South West Africa People’s Organisation, for the loss of H.E Dr Hage G. Geingob, President of the Republic of Namibia, who passed away in the early hours of this morning.

With a shared history, we consider his contribution to the liberation of his people a legacy that remains an inspiration to us all. 

His fellow citizens, for whom he worked so hard, will feel his loss. He was a wise and valiant leader, dedicated to the preservation of democracy and the safety and welfare of his nation.

To his family and loved ones, be assured that we in South Africa share your bereavement in the loss of this great man. You are in our thoughts and prayers during your time of grief. 

The memory of his lifetime as a dedicated member of SWAPO and statesman in the service of democracy and the highest ideals will remain in the halls of history where great men of his stature and esteem are never to be forgotten.
