On Saturday 24 October 2020, Herman Mashaba will lead ActionSA into the Johannesburg City Centre in promotion of the insourcing of security guards and general cleaners.

While Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Mashaba championed the initiative of insourcing all security guards and cleaners employed by the City. The move saw over 6000 workers receiving a minimum of 50% higher salaries and additional employment benefits such as medical aid. This feat was particularly beneficial to female workers who became permanent employees of the City.

Mashaba will be accompanied by the Gauteng Provincial Chairperson, John Moodey, National Director of Operations, Funzi Ngobeni, Interim Senate Member, David Tembe, and AstionSA’s National Spokesperson, Lerato M-Ngobeni.
